2010 #03 Utah Running Club Half Marathon, 10K, & 5K

Note From Race Director: This is a glorified training runs that is great for the competitive racer because Get Fit gives out gift certificates to the top finishers based on age and gender, but it is also great for those who just want a casual workout because it is so affordable and low-key. Self timed, whoever finishes first in the half-marathon, after time subtractions (shown below), gets a $20-30 gift card to Get Fit Athletic Wear! 2nd place gets a $15 one! The top finishers of the 10K get gift cards for $10 and $5 based on the age and gender subtractions. All other runners get consolation prizes! You are responsible to time yourself if you want to have your time listed in the results and to be eligible for the placement prizes, so you need to wear a stop watch and write your name and time down once you get to the store or if you forget a watch, ask an employee of Get Fit what time it is and write down the time so we will have an approximate finish time. We will not be blocking off intersections, but may mark the course. We will have maps for you to carry with you during the run. Last Saturday they gave out Asics water bottles, 20% off coupons, and nutrition bars to all runners. We will have a goody bag for each runner and refreshments.

URC assumes no responsibility for accidents or problems caused by your getting lost or getting hurt, so you need to look at the map in advanced and bring one along on the run with you (we will hand them out to you), look both ways at intersections and watch out for vehicle traffic. You need to obey all traffic laws.
You must pre-register ($1 + $1.50 transaction fee = $2.50) on runnercard.com so that we will have your waiver and to help us cover our costs, unless you are a member of Get Fit Running Club (free to join), a contributing/paid member of URC, or have attended a Mon-Fri URC practice in the last 2 months, in which case you may run for free if you e-mail me the registration form from the races page by copying and pasting the registration form in an e-mail, found at www.UtahRunningClub.com/Registration-Form. You may also mail it if it arrives by Friday. Everyone must pay an extra $1, even if you have a free entry, if you register day-of. You need to arrive at 7:45 am if you want to register day-of.
CARPOOLS: We will be carpooling from the middle of Provo High School parking lot at 7:00 am, leaving at 7:05 am sharp. There will be another carpool up from Orem at the University Mall Parking Lot near the UTA bus stop at 7:15 am, leaving at 7:20 am sharp.
We might have a water table on the course, but if you want to stash water along the course or carry it with you that would be a good idea. There will be a sports drink and water at the finish provided by Get Fit, and you can get 25% off to Blue Lemon next door where you can get a hot drink.

If you want to volunteer to help after the events, you can get out of the $1 late fee if you will help pick up the cones!
If you want to volunteer the day before the event, helping to mark the course with cones with Mary Ann, you can get a monthâ??s worth of free entries!
