This Thanksgiving Day 5K is designed for participants of all ages and fitness levels. Prizes and medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers, in three different age-range categories. The course is mostly flat terrain and is stroller and wheelchair friendly. We have had participants over the age of 80 and, in addition to tiny tots in strollers, we have had participants as young as 2 years old complete the entire race on foot.
As always, there will be fun door prizes, the chance to see and have your picture taken with “Lucky” the turkey, and get your appetite all revved up for a delicious Thanksgiving dinner. This 5k has become the best-loved holiday tradition in the community, so come and celebrate with us, your family, neighbors, and co-workers!
Pre-registration is encouraged, and details can be found on the website at http://www.minicassiaturkeytrot.com, but for the non-committal trotters, race day registration is available starting at 8 am and credit card payments are accepted.

We always have our fingers crossed for beautiful race weather, and we are lucky enough to get it most years. However, we've also learned in the handful of years that the weather has been more nasty than nice, that racers still show up and once you get moving, it's really not all that bad. As all experienced Turkey Trotters know, the race goes on no matter the weather. This race is designed with family and community and FUN in mind. Proceeds of the race are donated back to the community through the senior centers and the volunteer fire department. They have contributed to scholarship funds, local parks and recreation improvement projects, fire & rescue equipment, and other community programs!!!
