2009 Hale Freezes Over 5K/10K

Note From Meet Director:
There are two groups of people on this earth: those who truly enjoy running and those who will only go running "when hell freezes over." Finally there is a race that fits both groups. The Hale Center Foundation for the Arts and Education proudly announces its inaugural fund-raising, fun run--the Hale Freezes Over 10k, 5k, and 1-Mile Walk. It is taking place on January 31, 2009, and all routes begin and end at the Theater. Aid stations along the course will include both water and hot cider for the race participants. We also hope to have a few whirlpools from Bullfrog Spas available at the
Finish Line to help warm the chilled runners and walkers.
In case of snow, the course will be plowed the morning of the event. Both the 10k and 5k take the runners on a scenic route through West Orem, even dropping down for a moment to beautiful Geneva Road. The races start at 10 AM, but chances are the temperatures will be chilly, so bring your sweats!
All participants will receive a shirt with original artwork by Nathan Hale, (illustrator of the children's books Rapunzel's Revenge & Yellowbelly and Plum Go to School), two free tickets to see a show, and much more great
swag. We will also have a prize drawing and awards for the overall top three finishers, prizes for the winners of each age group, and a special finisher's award for everyone else.

Online registration will close no earlier than Friday, January 30th, at midnight. Race morning registration will be $20. Race morning registration will be from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m.
