Note From Meet Director:
Roy High School is excited to host the April 20th, 2018 Weber School District Jr High Quad Meet at Roy High School Stadium with Roy Jr, Rocky Mtn, Snowcrest and South Jr attending, we will be using a NEW experimental format that has been approved by the district. The total entrants listed below for each school will be for BOTH girls and boys(example: 21 hurdlers for girls and 21 hurdlers for boys). Please make sure to enter in ONLY the exact entrants as it specifies below- it will be different for each school for each race:
*Hurdles - 21 total entrants with 3 heats of 7: Rocky Mtn 6 entrants, other 3 schools 5 entrants.
*100 - 21 total entrants with 3 heats of 7: Roy Jr 6 entrants, other 3 schools 5 entrants.
*400 - 21 total entrants with 3 heats of 7: Snowcrest 6 entrants, other schools 5 entrants.
*4 X 100 Relay - 7 teams all in 1 heat: Rocky Mtn, Roy, and Snowcrest 2 teams each and South Jr 1 team.
*Medley Relay - 7 teams all in 1 heat: Roy Jr, Snowcrest, South Jr 2 teams each and Rocky Mtn 1 team. Last leg runners for each lane of this race will need name tags on for finish line.
*200 - 21 entrants with 3 heats of 7: South Jr 6 entrants, other 3 schools 5.
*Combo Relay - 7 teams all in 1 heat: Snowcrest, South, Rocky Mtn 2 teams each and Roy Jr 1 team.
*4 X 400 Relay - 7 teams all in 1 heat: South Jr, Rocky Mtn, Roy Jr 2 teams each and Snowcrest 1 team. Last leg runners for each lane of this race will need name tags on for finish line.
*1600 - 6 entrants per school in 1 heat, no open 1600. 1600 participants will all need to be wearing name tags for finish line.
*800 - 5 entrants per school in Heat 1 with all Heat 1 entrants getting a time. ALL Heat 1 participants will need to be wearing name tags for finish line. Heat 2 would be open, unlimited entries and the top 10 finishers will be timed and all others will need to listen for their time as they cross the finish line.
*Long Jump, Shot, Discus - 3 attempts only with no finals: each school gets 5 entrants.
Girls long jump first followed by boys long jump.
Boys shot put first followed by girls shot put.
Girls discus first followed by boys discus.
*High Jump - 2 attempts only at opening 3 heights and then 3 attempts only at remaining heights until finished: each school gets 5 entrants.
Boys high jump first followed by girls high jump.
Our hope is that this NEW jr high track meet format would add a significant number of opportunities for athletes to get a better track experience and should cut down the size of the open 800 so that it is not as chaotic.
Jr high track coaches will now be able to get more athletes in the events they want to be in.
JR HIGH COACHES- YOU MUST ENTER A TIME AND/OR MARK FOR EVERY ATHLETE IN THIS MEET! EVEN A BEST ESTIMATE IS FINE, BUT WE MUST HAVE TIMES AND/OR MARKS FOR EACH ATHLETE OR IT MESSES UP THE HEAT SHEETS ON RUNNERCARD AND REALLY SLOWS US DOWN. ALL ENTRIES MUST BE COMPLETED ON RUNNERCARD BY 6:00 PM SHARP THIS WED, APRIL 18TH! THE MEET PROGRAM INCLUDING ALL TRACK & FIELD EVENTS AND PARTICIPANTS WILL BE EMAILED OUT BY THURSDAY MORNING, APRIL 19TH AND THE QUAD MEET WILL BEGIN PROMPTLY AT 3:00 PM ON FRIDAY, APRIL 20TH WITH A MANDATORY COACHES MEETING BEING HELD IN THE RHS PRESS BOX AT 2:40 PM.
