HERNANDO INVITATIONAL TRACK & FIELD 2023 AT THE EL DORADO H.S. – MEET INFORMATION
Below is more important information and notes as well as a campus map and key to pass on regarding our Hernando Track & Field
Meet Invitational at El Dorado H.S. on April 1, 2023:
1. Camps – when you arrive on campus, you may set up camp on the Bleachers located on the Visitors’ Side (bleachers closest
to the outdoor basketball and tennis courts.) *Have your buses drop off your teams on the Edgemere entrance/exit.
2. Spectators – spectators may sit on the Bleachers located on the Home Side of the field/track (closest to the softball field.)
3. Warming Up – Coaches, it is important that you use the field behind the Visitors’ Bleachers for warming up. To preserve the
new football/soccer field, we are looking to avoid having hundreds of kids stepping on the turf especially if they have spikes.
4. Scratch Meeting and Hospitality Room will be in the Varsity Football Locker Room located in the building closest to the finish
line of the track. We will have a coaches’ meeting to ensure everyone is clear on responsibilities and assignment at 7:40 a.m
but you may begin scratching athletes as soon as you arrive on campus (only scratches are permitted-no changes.) There will
be a light breakfast provided in the morning with lunch coming at around 11 a.m. (drinks/snacks available throughout.)
5. Restrooms – student/athletes and the public may use the restrooms located in the Concession Stand building which is by the
softball field. Coaches may use the indoor restrooms by to our Hospitality Room.
6. The plan is to begin the meet promptly at 8 a.m., so please have your student/athletes ready for that start time. For field
events have your Lady athletes begin getting their marks and “run throughs” so they too are ready at 8 a.m. ***Keep in
mind, girls will be running 300m Hurdles at the beginning of the meet.
7. Every school will have a responsibility assigned to them for the meet (see “Assignments” above,) so please bring your tape
measures and measuring sticks.
8. We’ll look to combine and waterfall all the heats for the 1600m and 2400m runs. This will be discussed at our 7:40 meeting.
9. A special thank you goes out the Admins of Hernando M.S. and El Dorado H.S. for helping us organize this event, to the El
Dorado H.S. Football and Track & Field Coaches for all of their assistance and of course you Coaches for the “grind"
